In May, residents can head out to theCaledonia Farmers Market for fresh produce. In June and July it is held on Saturdays only but in August there are some extra days so you don’t have to wait until November! September through October they’re open every Saturday from 8am-12pm at 100th Street& M 37 near Northland Plaza Mall. A trip downtown isn’t complete without stopping by one of these markets which sell everything from fruits & vegetables all way down Line H -even handmade jewelry or apparel made just right here locally.
The community garden provides a calm, peaceful haven for the township’s residents. It was planted in stages so that there are multiple harvests throughout summer and fall produce is available to all Residents.
Michigan is home to many lakes, and the Caledonia area is no exception. The area is home to several popular lakes, including Duncan, Campau/Kettle (Alto, MI but still), Green Lake and more. The lakes are a popular destination for boating during the summer months, with parades, fireworks and other events often taking place on the water. The Thornapple River is a favorite of tubers and kayakers during summer –launching at 84th Street by the dam, the couple hour float down the river typically ends at Ruehs Park located on 68th Street (depending on the current). Winter isn’t just for hibernation around the Caledonia area. During the chilly months, lakes are used for ice fishing, skating, and other winter activities.
One Unique Business in Caledonia is Legacy Stables. Legacy Stables is a great place for people of all ages and abilities to come and ride horses. They have a variety of programs that cater to different needs, such as riding lessons, therapeutic riding, equestrian vaulting, and camps. They also offer birthday parties, field trips, one-time rides, and more. The staff at Legacy Stables are qualified and well-trained, and the horses and ponies are well-cared for. Residents of Caledonia Township have a wealth of educational opportunities available to them. Starting with preschool and continuing through college, there are many excellent schools to choose from. These include public and private schools, as well as institutions of higher education like Davenport University. The West Michigan Aviation Academy is also located only a couple miles away from Caledonia Township. This provides residents with an excellent option for students seeking a career in aviation.
